Your right to privacy

Societal stigma around mental health problems creates significant guilt and shame, making it difficult for many to seek help. Fear of judgment from peers, family, society, or employers often deters individuals from committing to treatment. Our clinic’s location in Switzerland is a deliberate choice, providing a unique blend of privacy, trust, and cultural tolerance. Our security and discretion concept

NEOVIVA’s security and discretion framework is anchored in a set of obligations and measures designed to uphold the highest standards of confidentiality:

• All internal and external employees and partners associated with NEOVIVA are bound by professional confidentiality, as stipulated in the Swiss Criminal Code Article 321.

• All internal and external employees are required to sign a Code of Conduct and a declaration of secrecy, reinforcing an absolute duty of confidentiality towards third parties. We carefully select employees who embody our values and culture to establish a trustworthy team.

• Given that our clients are self-payers, we refrain from creating files with third-party entities like health insurance companies. Additionally, to uphold confidentiality, our invoices are generated by a third-party company, mitigating the risk of disclosing your payment behaviour through credit card statements or other billing documents.

• NEOVIVA’s electronic correspondence adheres to stringent IT security protocols. Notably WhatsApp, while commonly used by healthcare staff in other clinics, does not comply with the regulations of the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Swiss Act on Federal Data Protection (FADP), which prohibit the storage of sensitive data on servers located outside their respective geographic areas. Similar considerations apply to other applications, such as online calendars, Dropbox, and Google Drive, which store data on servers worldwide. Consequently, at NEOVIVA, it is mandatory for our staff to utilise only secure and/or encrypted messaging tools to safeguard our client’s data. Our HIN membership signifies our commitment to handling client data with utmost confidentiality, using the HIN connection for secure electronic transmission. By adopting this label, we affirm our adherence to the HIN Charter, highlighting our dedication to data security and privacy standards that exceed legal requirements.

• In addition to the European and Swiss regulations on data privacy, we are also obliged to adhere to doctor-patient confidentiality. We take this responsibility very seriously and will never share any information without your consent.

• Each client is welcome to register under their own name or a chosen pseudonym.

• All medical records are encrypted and securely stored in a restricted-access location.

• The location of our clients’ stay is confidential and withheld from third parties.
